PM Kakar leaves for China to attend 3rd Belt and Road Forum

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, has left for Beijing to participate in the third Belt and Road Forum beginning in Beijing tomorrow.
Prime Minister Kakar will address the high-level forum with a theme of "Connectivity in an Open Global Economy". He will dilate upon development successes achieved under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) over the last 10 years as well as highlight future goals and reaffirm Pakistan's cooperation on this key project.
In a tweet before departure, PM Kakar said he is looking forward to strengthening ties, engaging in dialogues, forging new partnerships, and promoting regional connectivity for a brighter future.
During the visit, Kakar will also have bilateral meetings with Chinese leadership, including President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang and other leading personalities. Besides, he will meet with the global leaders participating in the forum.

He will also hold meetings with top Chinese businessmen, including heads of large corporations and business giants to discuss forging cooperation, including joint ventures in Pakistan.
A number of agreements and Memorandums of Understanding are expected to be signed in the areas of agriculture, health, industry, green energy, and space technology.
Kakar will also visit Urumqi to meet with local leaders and businessmen to enhance trade, investment and people to people contacts.

Pak-China relationship exemplary
PM Kakar has said that the historical evolution of Pakistan-China relationship, and its growing importance in the wake of evolving regional and global developments, is an exemplary model of inter-state relationship.
In an article published in the daily Global Times, Kakar said the unique relationship of more than seven decades, underpinned by the rationale of strong political support, mutual trust, and all-round practical cooperation has matured into a strong strategic partnership.
Kakar said Pakistan fully endorses China's proposal of developing the CPEC as a corridor of growth, livelihood, innovation, greenness and openness.
He said Pakistan being a pioneering member of the Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative, has played an active role in giving it a more concrete shape.
He said Pakistan is ready to benefit from this cooperation in areas of education, healthcare, climate change, and poverty reduction.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan has also supported the Global Security Initiative and its adherence to the UN Charter and principles of multilateralism and non-interference in other countries' internal affairs.
He said having long suffered due to unresolved disputes, conflicts, and terrorism, we advocate for dialogue and constructive engagement based on mutual respect, to ensure regional peace in South Asia.
