Foreign Office launches App to serve hotline between officers and minister

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has inaugurated FM Direct App on Friday in Islamabad to improve internal coordination in foreign ministry, and which will enable any officer working in the foreign office will be able to contact their minister directly.
The meeting that was presided by the minister was attended by foreign secretary Sohail Mehmood, Special Assistant to PM Sania Idris, Chairman NADRA Usman Mubeen in addition to 60 heads of Pakistani consulates across the world who were digitally present in the meeting.
While praising the Chairman NADRA for his special efforts in realizing the app, the minister said: “FM Direct Application is not meant to raise personal issues, or for back-biting. Instead, this app is meant to enhance the internal coordination of the foreign ministry, and will enable the decision-making by involving the opinions of the officers of the department.”
Through FM Direct App, the officers working in the foreign ministry will be able to contact the foreign minister directly.
While launching this app, Shah Mehmood said: “The coronavirus has shaken the world, and now the governance style is witnessing drastic changes,” and added that “This process will hasten the process of digitalization.”
