What appears to be another “criminal negligence” by the administration of the national flag carrier, and which has resulted into a renewed embarrassment on Friday as a PIA flight that was sent to China to collect medical equipment has returned with surgical masks only.
Apparently, the authorities had dispatched the flight PK-8852 from Islamabad to Beijing in order to collect the medical equipment for the coronavirus. However, due to administrative maladministration, the PIA aircraft remained lying at Beijing Airport for six hours, against its two hours scheduled time for the cargo.
Due to the lack of administrative coordination, the flight operated without planning caused an additional delay of four hours to the crew.
Later, the PIA flight only returned with surgical masks from Beijing.
