Transport fares surged after petrol price rise

Intercity transporters of Karachi and interior Sindh on Wednesday increased the fares by Rs100 to Rs200 after the hike in prices of petroleum products, 24NewsHD TV channel.
On the other hand, Public Transport Owners Federation has announced to close 50 percent of transport and warned the government that in case petroleum prices are not reduced in 15 days, they will shut down their transport completely,
However, after the raise in transport fares citizens are of the view that it has also become difficult for the people to travel even within Sindh. They said not only petrol but everything has become expensive.
In this regard transporters also seemed worried and they said people are not paying Rs500 even to go to Hyderabad, if the fare is increased further, the people will be in more trouble.
According to details, the fare from Karachi to Sehwan has been increased Rs 1200 while the fare of Larkana will be 1500 after an increase of one hundred rupees, Shikarpur Rs1600 with increase of Rs200, Mehar fare was increased to Rs 1400.
Similarly, the fare from Karachi to Hyderabad has been increased to Rs600.
Citizens have appealed the government to bring down the prices of petroleum products so that the people can get relief.
