Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Sher Afzal Marwat has claimed that he has rejoined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as all grievances have been resolved after a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Saturday after a meeting with former premier Imran Khan, Marwat stated that he had met with Imran Khan after a gap of three months saying that Khan warmly welcomed him and discussed various issues.
He said he had apologized and requested that further difficulties be avoided. “PTI founder Imran Khan has forgiven him.”
He clarified that he had not been expelled from the party and any notification to that effect was fake. Only Imran Khan had the authority to expel him, he said.
Marwat emphasized that his affection for Khan remained unaffected by any rumors.
He described the respect and affection received from Khan as a lifelong asset.
Marwat stated that responsibility for the upcoming PTI rally has been entrusted to Barrister Gohar, and any differences within the party have now been resolved.
The PTI leader also announced that he had been given the responsibility of organizing a public gathering on August 22 and the party chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was witness to Khan’s direction about the power show.
Expressing regret for his previous remarks about party leaders, Marwat apologized, indicating that the matter had been settled after the PTI founder's intervention.
He further asserted that only the PTI founder has the authority to remove him from the party.
In addition, Marwat addressed concerns about his upcoming visit to Lahore and mentioned that some have objected to his planned trip to London.
He firmly stated that he did not pass any negative comments against fellow PTI leaders, including Shibli Faraz, Umar Ayub, and others.
Previously, the PTI founder had reportedly refused to meet Marwat on multiple occasions.
Despite the suspension, Marwat had previously stated that the suspension of his PTI membership would not affect him, as his loyalty remained with the party founder. He asserted that the termination of his party membership would not make a difference to his commitment to the PTI.
“Khan had conveyed that no disagreements will be tolerated and that all issues should be addressed collectively,” Marwat continued.
Marwat voiced the public’s desire for democracy in Pakistan and pledged to fight against human rights violations.
He announced plans to mobilize thousands in Islamabad on August 22 for a rally, stating that those who wished to arrest them were welcome to do so.
“I have been assigned the responsibility for the August 22 rally by Imran Khan”, Marwat added.
He assured that their approach would be peaceful and warned that attempts to disrupt their efforts would invite public wrath.
Marwat committed to taking full responsibility for any future issues and denied having any contact with General Faiz, labeling such claims as baseless.
