People have lost their tempers as severe gas shortage in the country, and that too in this chilly weather, has badly affected their routine life, leaving them at the mercy of biting cold, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

Although, there is a gas crisis throughout the year, still at no point the crisis is as severe as it is in winters since the demand far exceeds the supply.

And although the issue is not of the present government’s making, still it has failed to resolve it.

Despite the fact that the government had announced only recently that the gas would be supplied to consumers in winters three times a day, still there are complaints from people that there is no gas supply even in the hours reserved for the purpose.

Taking advantage of the situation, the opposition parties, including Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), have swung into action, and on the instructions of party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, ‘Jiyalas’ will come out on roads today across the country to vent their anger.

As is the case in other Sindh cities, PPP workers at the party’s bastion, Larkana, are holding a sit-in at Jinnah Bagh Chowk to express their anger over the gas loadshedding.

They say that there is no gas supply even at the time of meals.

The situation, they add, gets worse particularly early in the morning and at night, making it difficult for them to even make breakfast.
