The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Thursday announced weekly direct flights from Lahore and Karachi to Azerbaijan’s capital and financial hub Baku, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
As per the details, these flights will be operated twice a week.
The first flight will leave for Baku on March 16, 2022 from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi while the second will leave for the Azerbaijan’s capital on March 19 from Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.
The commencement of direct PIA flights to Azerbaijan’s capital will fulfil the longstanding demand of citizens of both countries, especially the Pakistanis residing in Baku—an important spot in global tourism.
PIA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Air Marshal (retd) Arshad Malik congratulated the PIA authorities on finalising arrangements for the flights.
He said that efforts were being made to include more international destinations in the PIA’s network, directing the PIA’s officials to ensure provision of the best services to passengers.
