Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in the Punjab capital in wake of the opposition parties’ activities to gear up the anti-government drive.

The premier spent a busy day holding meetings with his party lawmakers to address their concerns.

He announced a strategy for local body elections and presided over various meetings on public facilities like health cards.

The PM and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar held deliberations upon measures to thwart the bid to topple the PTI government.

The duo decided to add more ministers to the provincial cabinet and new ministers will be from the angry factions and allies of the PTI. The prime minister issued directives to release development funds.

During a meeting with Minister for Local Government Mahmoodur Rasheed, the premier said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will win local body elections, and decisions regarding awarding tickets should be taken with consensus.

His party leaders shared their reservations about the delimitation of local bodies and he directed them to move ECP and laid stress on joint efforts for achieving success in the local body elections. He also directive the lawmakers to take an active part in assisting the local bodies candidates in electioneering.
