CM Naqvi says interest-free loans for houses to be given with cooperation of Akhuwat

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Friday said that interest-free loans will be given for building houses on less than 5 marla land with the cooperation of the Akhuwat Foundation in the province.
according to the 24News HD TV channel, CM Naqvi chaired a meeting to review the issues related to the Chief Minister Low-Cost Housing Scheme project.
He directed the departmental authorities to reconstitute the board of Punjab Housing and Town Planning departments as soon as possible.
CM Mohsin Naqvi also issued a directive to make it easier for people with low incomes to get housing loans.
In the meeting, evaluating the issue of providing easy loans of Rs800 million for house construction through Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance.
Addressing the meeting, CM Naqvi said owning a home is the basic right of every citizen so interest-free loans will be given for building houses on less than 5 marla land with the cooperation of the Akhuwat Foundation.
Naqvi said providing easy loans to low-income people to build houses will increase economic activity. He also lauded the 100 per cent recovery of interest-free loans of Rs200 million through Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance.
Akhuwat Foundation Chairman Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib, Secretary Housing, DG Punjab Housing and Town Planning and other officers attended the meeting.
