Renowned lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar joins Faiz Festival

Renowned lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar arrived in Lahore on Friday to attend the 7th Faiz International Festival at Alhamra Art Council, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He along with a delegation of prominent Indian artists, writers, and poets entered Pakistan via Wagha Border and will be staying over the weekend to be a part of the three-day event.
Akhtar will also meet politicians and dignities during his stay in Lahore.
Talking to the media, he said that "I have come to Pakistan with a message of peace and strongly believe that both countries should have cordial relations."
I came to Lahore for the first time in 2018 and got more love from Pakistanis than I deserved, he said, adding that I am very happy to come here again.
“I love Lahore because of Faiz Ahmed Faiz.”
Javed Akhtar, the son of a legendary poet Jan Nisar Akhtar expressed his desire for peace and better relations between Pakistan and India.
He said the late Fiaz Ahmad Faiz enjoys high respect and popularity in India also. “There is no one in India who is fond of literature and has not read Faiz.”
