Federal Minister for Education Rana Tanveer Hussain Tuesday strongly opposed the "sponsored bills" tabled by the private members in the National Assembly (NA).
According to the 24News HD TV channel, During the NA Tuesday Session as a private member day, Dr Afzal Dhandla moved the Ivory University Bill 2023 in the House.
Education Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain opposed the bill and said the members of the national assembly (MNAs) are given sponsored bills and they present these bills here in the House. 
The education minister said the matter of tabling the sponsored bills was unfortunately not only happening in the National Assembly but in the provincial assemblies too.
In support of his argument against the sponsored bills, Rana Tanveer Hussain gave a reference to the Punjab Assembly and said Punjab has approved the bills of eleven universities recently.
Federal Education Minister Tanveer also said it is a need for time to make reforms to improve the education system in the country.
The chair postponed the bill for further consultation after the opposition of the education minister in the House.
