An elderly man died of a heart attack after failing to get a flour bag in spite of his day-long desperate efforts outside a depot in Kotli District of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Due to the severe wheat flour crisis in Pakistan, the price of the basic commodity has soared making it unaffordable for the underprivileged.
Syed Anwar Hussain Shah, an elderly man from Sindhwal village of Kotli, spent the entire day begging for a 20kg bag of flour outside the flour depot. However, no one from the food department could provide him a bag of flour.
The distraught and hapless old man cried out incessantly, "My children are hungry. I will hold everybody accountable on the Day of Judgment who could not provide me a flour bag to ease my misery."
Upon going home in absolute disappointment, the starving and distressed man suffered a heart attack and breathed his last.
