Siraj reiterates JI emerged leading party in Karachi LB polls

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Sirajul Haq on Monday reiterated that JI has emerged as the leading party during the local body elections in Karachi," reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a protest rally in Peshawar, Siraj alleged that the provincial election commission had stolen their mandate. “The number of successful seats of the JI is more than 103,” Sirajul Haque claimed, adding that the jamaat will never tolerate theft of its mandate.
On Monday, JI Ameer Sirajul Haq announced protests in all major cities of the country against alleged rigging in the local government elections of Karachi.
Siraj ul Haq said that the results shown by the party’s polling agents clearly show that JI has secured the majority. “We believe that the election results of the jamaat as well as other political parties have been altered.”
He vowed the masses and activists have come out across the country for expressing solidarity with the people of Karachi.
JI Amir also thanked the people of Karachi who opted for Jamaat-e-Islami and rejected the PPP and its allies. “We will fulfill the expectations of the people.”
He warned that if ROs do not return the jamaat’s mandate, it will jam the country. “All the political parties of the country are in the governments except Jamaat-e-Islami,” Sirajul Haque said, adding that people are standing in queues due to the rulers’ wrong policies, Sirajul Haq.
He also expressed his hope that Asif Zardari will honor the mandate of the people of Karachi.
