YouTube channel owner, reporter jailed in Karachi for blackmailing

An anti-terrorism court in Karachi has awarded jail terms to owner of a YouTube channel and its reporter for blackmailing a clinic doctor, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The court on Tuesday awarded five-year imprisonment each to both of them along with Rs10,000 fine to each of them.
The court ordered the arrest of Muzammal Aslam Monga and Wasim Abbas Hashmi who were on bail and sent them to prison.
Clinic owner Arif Solangi got registered a case against the convicts in Aziz Bhatti Police Station, saying report Wasim Hashmi came to his clinic on 15 January, 2022, along with his cameraman. They made a video of his clinic and threatened him if he did not strike a “deal” with them, he added.
The clinic owner said they gave him a phone number and demanded Rs300,000. Half of the among was sent to them through Easy Paisa while he handed the remaining amount to them at their office.
