King Edward Medical University (KEMU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal Monday visited the isolation ward at Mayo Hospital.

Having adopted safety measures, the vice chancellor examined the allocated area thoroughly.

From a distance, he talked to a quarantined patient and assured him of all-out support to provide relief to them.

Without shaking hands, he interacted with patients and attendants to get feedback to better public healthcare service delivery.

Twenty rooms were designated for the corona patients while a 25-bed special ward and a five-bed ICU was established.

He said his team has been doing its best in fight against the virus, saying: “We are here to serve humanity. We keep it on.”

He also made an appeal to people for following the safety steps to cope with this challenge.

So far, Punjab has registered two coronavirus cases – one in Lahore and one in Multan. The two came from a foreign trip.
