DRAP declares a batch of Barpon Suspension substandard

The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) declared one batch of fever and pain drug named Barpon 100mg/5mL Suspension (Batch # 202) by JASM Pharmaceutical substandard, KPK, 24News HD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to alert call from the DRAP on its website, the sale and usage of Barpon Suspension, containing 100 mg, have been restricted as samples of Barpon Suspension failed to meet the standards of quality testing.
DRAP said that consumption of substandard Barpon Suspension can lead to health complications. DRAP also directed the company not to supply the affected batch to the market and to recall it immediately.
While pharmacies are urged to cease the sale of affected batches of Barpon Suspension and doctors and patients are advised against using the affected batch.
