Arrangements complete for artificial rain in Lahore

Despite the fact that a marked reduction in smog was noticed in Lahore on Sunday, the Punjab government has done with its preparations for producing an artificial rain in the provincial capital so that there could be a further improvement in the situation, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Environment Protection Department Secretary Raja Jahangir Anwar has appealed to people to stay indoors and protect themselves from exposure to poor air quality so that they could remain safe from different kinds of infections.
He informed that countless smoke-emitting vehicles have been impounded, while brick kilns and factories causing pollution have also been closed.
“No leniency will be shown to those found violating the SOPs devised for the purpose; no matter however high and mighty.”
“The law will take its course against whosoever is caught contributing to pollution,” he has said.
