MQM-P undecided on proposed constitutional amendment

The Mutahidda Quami Mutahidda-Pakistan (MQM-P) could not decide whether to support the government on the proposed constitutional amendment or not, sources said on Wednesday.

At the dinner hosted by Kamran Tesuri, party leadership could not reach a consensus on the matter.

The leadership raised reservations about the proposed draft, the source said adding that they questioned what would benefit the citizens of Sindh, especially the people of Karachi and Hyderabad from the constitutional amendment.

The insiders cited the leaders as saying: “The public problems are yet to be solved but the  major political parties are just focusing on fixing their problems one seems serious about solving the public problems in Sindh.” 

They will decide after further meetings with PML-N and PPP, they added.
