Pakistani snooker players Awais Munir and Asjad Iqbal have qualified for Round 16 in the Snooker World Cup in Mongolia after giving exceptional performances in the group stages.
Both players remained undefeated, securing top positions in their respective groups.
Awais Munir showed remarkable resilience in his match against Iran’s Siyavosh Mozayani.
Despite losing the first frame by 9-63, he made a strong comeback and won the next three frames with scores of 78-34, 59-50, and 73-13.
He defeated Mongolia’s Kash Uchjir and Oman’s Hussain Al-Wati in straight frames.
Asjad Iqbal defeated Qatar’s Ali Alobaidli by 3-1 followed by two dominant 3-0 victories against Mongolia’s Batarkhuu Naranhuu and Japan’s Junji Miyazawa.
With their undefeated streaks, Awais and Asjad are now poised for strong performances in the pre-quarterfinals, aiming to secure further success on the global stage.
