The investigators have managed to find proof of PTI Information Secretary Raoof Hasan’s contacts with Indian journalist Karan Thapar on WhatsApp to spread the party’s narrative against the state institutions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Credible sources have told 24News that Raoof, who introduced himself to Thapar as PTI’s media coordinator, shared with him information about Army Chief General Asim Muneer.

They have said that investigators have found out that it was on November 19, 2022 that Raoof for the first time contacted the Indian journalist.

In initial messages, Thapar inquired from him about the expected interview of PTI stalwart Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

On November 24, 2022, the journalist shared with the PTI information secretary the interview he had taken with former RAW secretary Rana Banerjee for his YouTube channel in which Banerjee and Thapar expressed their views about the army chief.

During the interview, Thapar described General Asim as more tough on India.

And one day later on November 25, the journalist send to Raoof the interview he had taken with a Pakistani journalist, in which he had sought his opinion about the army chief.

In response, the PTI’s media coordinator described the journalist as untrustworthy and shared with Thapar information related to General Asim.

Sources have further said that later in a message in February 2023, Raoof praised India’s stance on the war in Ukraine and slammed that of Pakistan.

Raoof had opined that keeping in view the principle of remaining impartial on global issues, India’s stance was understandable.
