Following the strike by Iran inside Pakistani territory late Tuesday night that resulted in the deaths of civilians, the government of Pakistan has directed the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to strictly monitor all the flights entering the country’s airspace from the west, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Sources in the CAA told 24News TV channel that Pakistan, however, had not closed its airspace for commercial flights entering the country from Iran since no such decision had been taken as yet.

The sources disclosed that instructions had also been given to the air traffic control to collect details of all the flights coming to the country from the west, Iran as well as other countries.

Never in history has such a monitoring been ordered by the Pakistani government.

Iran had launched attacks in Pakistan to target what it described as bases for the militant group, Jaish al-Adl, in the border town of Panjgur in Balochistan that let to strong condemnation from Islamabad.

Pakistan reacted swiftly and strongly condemned the violation of its airspace by Iran, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs saying that the strike inside Pakistani territory killed two children and injured three girls.

“This violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty is completely unacceptable and can have serious consequences,” the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday night.
