Police and administration stop Daniyal Aziz's election rally in Shakargarh

Shakargarh - Independent candidate Daniyal Aziz faced a setback Wednesday when his first election rally in Shakargarh city was stopped by the police and the administration, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to sources, the police removed the chairs from the stage of the meeting hall and turned off the lights, saying that there was no permit for the meeting.

DSP Circle Rai Ehsan said that in view of the law and order situation, permission is necessary for holding any election-related activity.

He said that Daniyal Aziz and his colleagues were asked to leave the venue and not to violate the election code of conduct.

Daniyal Aziz, however, claimed that he had informed the administration about his rally and that he was not given any notice of cancellation.

He said that he would get permission tomorrow and hold the meeting again according to the law. He said that he was not afraid of any pressure and that he would continue his election campaign peacefully.
