The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) on Saturday filed an application in the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), requesting the latter to return Rs1.03 per unit to consumers 

charged from them under the fuel price adjustment for December, 2024, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The CPPA, in its application, said that in December six million units of electricity were supplied to the power distribution companies at the cost of over Rs7 billion. 

It informed that in the month under review, the fuel price for per unit of electricity was Rs9.60.

The Authority went on to say that in December, 22.80 percent of electricity was generated from hydel; 10.06 percent from local coal; 1.59 percent from imported coal; 0.03 percent from furnace oil; 12.31 percent from local gas; 20.70 percent from LNG and 26.48 percent from nuclear sources.  

The NEPRA will hear the application on January 30.
