Electricity tariff to go down by Rs1.03 per unit

The federal government has decided to reduce electricity prices by Rs1.03 per unit on account of monthly fuel price adjustment, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
In this regard, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has filed an application with the National Electricity Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to reduce electricity prices.
The Nepra set the hearing on January 30 on the application to slash the power rates. Consumers will be given relief on the production cost for the month of December.
Consumers will be given relief on bills for February upon Nepra’s approval.
Consumers will be given relief on units used in December.
