Awam Express to restart from Dec 20

Pakistan Railways has decided to restart the Awam Express from December 20, which has been suspended since the 2022 floods in Sindh, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The Awam Express, operating on the route from Karachi to Lahore and Lahore to Peshawar, is set to resume operations following directives issued to the carriage shop officials at the Railway Headquarters.
Sources within Pakistan Railways disclosed that management has directed manufactures to prepare 18 bogies, accommodating economy class, lower A, and AC business class coaches for the relaunch scheduled in December.
The Awam Express is one of the longest continuous running services, covering a published distance of 1,721 kilometres along the Karachi–Peshawar Railway Line.
According to schedule Awam Express (14DN) will depart from Peshawar Cantt at 8:30 AM and reach Rawalpindi at 12:05 PM.
It will depart from Rawalpindi to Karachi Cantt via Lahore-Multan at 12:30 PM
The train will reach Karachi at 7:45 PM the next day.
On the other hand (13Up) Awam Express will leave Karachi Cantt at 7:00 am and reach Rawalpindi at 2:50 pm via Hyderabad, Rohri Multan and Lahore.
Awam Express from Rawalpindi to Peshawar will depart at 2:30 PM and reach Peshawar Cantt at 6:50 PM.
