Meta has imposed a ban on Russian state media outlets worldwide due to activities involving foreign interference, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

The decision came after the United States accused RT News, a Russian state-controlled outlet, of secretly transferring $1 million through shell companies.

According to U.S. allegations, these funds were used for running campaigns on social media apps.

The ban reflects Meta's ongoing efforts to counteract foreign influence on its platforms.
