Minimum bill for gas consumers fixed at Rs500

The federal government has fixed minimum bill for gas consumers at Rs500, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Fixed charges of Rs500 have been slapped on the bills of non-protected consumers.
The fixed charges will not be applicable to those consumers who use 0.9 unit gas for continuous one year.
The charges will be enforced for using more gas in any month during the year.
The fixed charges have been added to bills of the consumers along with the meter rent. Now, the gas consumers will have to pay a minimum bill of Rs500.
Sui Northern Gas Company added these charges to the gas bills after getting approval from Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).
The move will certainly inflate bills of the gas consumers.
