Punjab CM sets tasks for traffic, security, cleanliness during Eid
Assigns targets to relevant officials: Orders crackdown on transporters, hotels for overcharging: Security arrangements to ensure law and order chalked out, Special team to curb one-wheeling ordered

A meeting was chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday to review the all necessary cleanliness and traffic arrangements as well as to assign the targets to the provincial administration and police during Eid holidays, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The CM ordered a crackdown against transporters to check the overcharging from passengers commuting to their native places to celebrate Eid and warned of a strict action against those who will charge more than the notified fares.
To ensure the compliance, the CM instructed the transport department officials to be present in the field.
Moreover, the meeting also chalked out a comprehensive plan for the best ways to maintain law and order and to offer the greatest level of convenience to tourists visiting Murree and other tourists’ places on the occasion of Eid.
In addition to cleaning arrangements, CM Naqvi underlined the finest traffic management strategies for Lahore, Murree, and other major cities.
He emphasised the importance of preventing the entry of more vehicles than allowed into Murree and added that measures should be finalized as part of an effective plan to maintain traffic flow.
SOPs should be implemented and tourists should be guided about the traffic situation at all times, he added.
The meeting also decided to launch a crackdown on hotel overcharging and those who would raise parking prices and rob the public blind.
Furthermore, there will be no compromise on the quality edibles.
Similarly, parks and tourist attractions should make sure that children's swings are safe, and park swings will need to have a regular certificate.
Senior administrative and police officers should supervise all arrangements themselves in this regard.
Besides, the CM also ordered to form a special team to curb the menace of one wheeling.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police, Additional Chief Secretary Interior, CCPO Lahore, Secretaries Specialized Health Care and Medical Education, Transport, Industry, Auqaf, Agriculture, Commissioner Lahore Division, Cane Commissioner, DG PHA and related authorities.
Meanwhile, All Divisional Commissioners, RPOs, Deputy Commissioners and DPOs participated in the meeting through video link.
