Yousuf Raza Gilani urges economic stability and political unity in Pakistan

Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Chairman Senate stressing the importance of economic and political stability in Pakistan has stated the nation must work together to overcome its challenges, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During a conversation with the media on Sunday, Gilani remarked that the military is fulfilling its duties, and we should refrain from any criticism of the institution.
Gilani paid tribute to Pakistan's national hero, Arshad Nadeem, and expressed his deep connection to the city of Mian Channu, which he holds close to his heart.
"We are among those who contributed to the creation of Pakistan," he noted. He claimed that his father was present during the Lahore Resolution held in 1940.
The Chairman Senate stressed the need for collective efforts to stabilize Pakistan both economically and politically.
He mentioned that while his party is ready to offer constructive advice to the government, the priority should be to provide relief to the people, who are currently facing significant hardships.
"The public cannot bear much more," Gilani added, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the economic challenges facing the country.
Gilani reiterated the commitment to the creation of a separate Southern Punjab province, a cause that is central to his party’s manifesto.
He revealed that he received a two-thirds majority vote in favor of this initiative. "The voice for Southern Punjab cannot be silenced," he asserted.
