Arez Ahmed puts weight behind idea of financially independent woman

Actor Arez Ahmed has supported the idea of financially independent woman, saying: “In a relationship, it is important for a woman to be financially independent. I believe that a financially independent woman never bears the mistreating of her husband.”

During an interview with host Rabia Mughni for her Fuchsia Magazine, the actor emphasised: “Women tolerate the abusive behaviours because they are financially dependent.”

His wife, Hiba Bukhari, contributed to the talk saying: “I believe mere financial independence is not enough for women’s safety because most of the women have to face the harsh attitudes due to their high earnings, and they have to put more effort to save their homes.”

While supporting the thoughts of her husband, the “Deewangi” actress said: “Usually, people do not let their girls to be financially independent, for they believe that it will make them arrogant.”

She added: “The financial independence of a woman guarantees security. It has nothing to do with making them arrogant.”

It is pertinent to note here that “Aitebaar” actor Arez Ahmed shared her personal experience with the host. He said when he and his wife Hiba were planning to marry each other, people tried to create hurdles because Hiba was successful in her career while he was still struggling actor at that time.
