JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said instead of using more force, Pakistan and Iran should start normalizing relations through communication and dialogue by using diplomatic means, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.

In a statement, he said: “The Pak-Iran relations are brotherly, strong, deep, historical and spanning centuries. If Iran had any complaint or misunderstanding, it should have discussed it with Pakistan instead of acting on its own.”

He added: “The nature of Iran-Pakistan relations was not such that Iran would take such a step without taking Pakistan into confidence. Pakistan's retaliatory action was the least to register a kind of protest. However, instead of using more force, the two countries should start normalizing relations through communication and dialogue by using diplomatic means.”

He laid stress on adopting peaceful measures to prevent further escalation of bitterness’. “Enemy can take advantage if the situation is not controlled by mutual trust. Doubts and suspicions are increasing since the visit of the Indian F Minister to Iran a day before the operation,” he said.
