Irked over the failure of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah to appear in the court in connection with the case registered against him in Gujrat despite having been issued summons several times, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Gujranwala on Tuesday ordered the police to produce him on July 25, 2023, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The court also summoned Rana Saad, who had deposited a bail bond of Rs500,000 in the court after the minister’s non-bailable warrants were issued, on July 25.
According to copies of the notices, which media managed to obtain, the court ordered the police to make Sanaullah bound to appear on the next date of hearing.
In its notice to Saad, the court reminded him that he had given an undertaking in writing that the minister would attend every hearing. “You had also promised that in case the suspect does not appear in the court, you will pay Rs500,000 in fine,” read the notice.
“Therefore, you are asked to appear in the court and tell as to why action should not be taken against you,” it concluded.
