Cop martyred as terrorists attack checkpost in Takht Bhai

A policeman was killed and two others were seriously injured in an attack by terrorists on a police checkpost in Takht Bhai between Thursday and Friday night.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the miscreants attacked the police checkpost at the archaeological site located at the Malakand Raod.
The dead body of a policeman and two injured policemen were shifted to the hospital while the local police started search operations against the terrorists in the area.
Takht Bhai's original ancient name is Takht-i-Bahi, and it is an Indo-Parthian archaeological site of an ancient Buddhist monastery in Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The archaeological site is considered among the most important relics of Buddhism in all of what was once Gandhara and has been "exceptionally well-preserved."
The monastery was founded in the 1st century CE and was in use until the 7th century. The most historical location in the era is Sehri Bahlol. The monastery is situated on Malakand Road.
Mohsin Naqvi condemns attack
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Friday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a police checkpost in Takht Bhai, Mardan.
Mohsin Naqvi paid rich tribute to Constable Omar Nabi, who embraced martyrdom in the attack. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
He also prayed for the early recovery of the two injured constables. He said that Constable Omar Nabi has achieved the highest rank of martyrdom while performing his duty and “we salute the brave son of soil.”
He also appreciated Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police for showing immense courage and valour in the war against terrorism.
