The government has dissolved the Board of Commissioners of the Punjab Healthcare Commission, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

All members of the Board of Commissioners of the Healthcare Commission were dismissed.

Justice (retired) Bilal Khan and Dr. Talat Afza were discharged from the commission while Dr. Riaz Ahmed Tasneem and Sami Ibrahim were also dismissed as Health Care Commission member.

Moreover, Dr. Shafiq Patafi, Dr. Azimuddin Zahid Lakhvi and Hamesh Khan were also removed from the Board of Commissioners Healthcare Commission.

Senior bureaucrat Salman Siddique has already resigned from the Board of Fire Commissioners while Board of Commissioners member Dr. Umar Farooq Baloch has passed away some time ago.

The dissolved board of the Healthcare Commission was created in 2021 during the PTI era.

The current government will now form a new Board of Commissioners of the Healthcare Commission.

Reducing the powers of the board of the Health Care Commission led to conflict between the commissioners and the Department of Health.

Sources said senior bureaucrat Salman Siddique also resigned due to loss of board powers.
