Authorities locked down the Manga Union Council in Mardan District after death of a suspected coronavirus patient here on Thursday.
Later, at least 58 suspected coronavirus patients fled after they were shifted to a quarantine centre set up at the Khan Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan. The suspects, who had to undergo coronavirus tests, took advantage of the chaos caused by the lockdown in the Manga Union Council. There are reports that relatives, who came from different areas, were not allowed to see these suspected coronavirus patients. The fleeing suspects are being traced.
Also, the authorities have shifted the lady doctor, who was treating the deceased suspect, to the quarantine centre in Peshawar.
