Former Governor of Punjab, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, recently shared his distressing experiences while in custody, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He revealed that he has been suffering from frozen arms for the past five months, a condition that has been largely ignored by the authorities.
Despite a court order issued five months ago for a medical check-up, a doctor was only assigned to him a fortnight ago.
Cheema further disclosed that the court had ordered an MRI scan of his arm, but the Home Department has yet to implement this directive.
His health concerns do not end there. The substandard food provided in jail has led to him developing a liver disease.
Although the court ordered a liver operation six months ago, it has yet to be carried out.
Cheema, a member of the PTI, expressed his belief that he and his fellow party workers are being targeted for political revenge.
This comes in the wake of his dismissal as the Governor of Punjab, a move that has been widely criticised.
