Over 200 workers of the Insaf Students Federation (ISF) on Thursday formed a ‘human shield’ around the residence of former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Bani Gala, Islamabad in order to avert the possible arrest of their leader prior to the start of a long march, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Sources told 24News that the PTI workers set up camps around the residence of the former prime minister and had also brought necessary food items, beds and other goods with them so that they could remain entrenched in their positions for days to come.

There are growing fears that the PTI chairman might be arrested by the present government on one pretext or the other in order to avenge alleged political victimization in the past.

A few days ago, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah had hinted at the arrest of his predecessor Sheikh Rasheed and Imran in connection with their alleged involvement in the hooting of members of the coalition government around Masjide Nabawi where they had gone to pay their respects.

Furthermore, Imran had recently said that a conspiracy was being hatched to kill him and that he had recorded a video statement in this regard in which were mentioned the names of all those characters who wanted to see him out of the political arena.
