Citizen martyred as police patrol bombed in Tank

A citizen was martyred and 22 others including two cops were injured when unknown terrorists on Friday hurled a hand grenade at a vehicle of a police officer in Tank, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Reportedly, the terrorists targeted the vehicle of an officer of Police Lines near traffic police post in Tank Bazaar. They tried to blow it up by hurling a hand grenade at it. The explosion caused injuries to several law personnel and citizens.
The policemen did not bother and challenged the terrorists, and in the ensuring gunbattle a Taliban commander was killed.
The police and security officials immediately rushed to the venue after getting information of the blast and cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation.
The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for emergency treatment.
