Calling Prime Minister Imran Khan ‘selected’ as well as ‘rejected’, Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz said on Friday that it was unfortunate that he failed to deliver on his promises he had made to the nation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the media outside an accountability court (AC) in Lahore, he said that the prime minister had promised to the nation to build five million homes for them, but failed to build one. “Similarly, he had promised to create 10 million jobs for the people, but failed to reach even halfway mark,” he said, and added, “And now he is trying to sneak into power in the next general elections through the electronic voting machines (EVMs). At a time when these machines have been discarded the world over, this man is introducing them here.”

Hamza said that the reservations PML-N had over the results of 2018 general elections were still there.

He went on to add that people’s lives had become miserable as there was massive inflation in the country. “Industrial units are being shut due to the non-provision of gas in winters,” Hamza said, and added that all the parties should unite to show the present Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government the door.

He further said that law and order situation in Punjab was pathetic as incidents of murder and robberies had become common. “We feel ashamed when we look at the law and order situation in the province,” he added.
