In one of the most harrowing incidents, an unidentified man kept raping a 13-year-old mentally handicapped girl in Jhelum for seven months, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The medical report has not only confirmed rape with the girl but it has also emerged that she is into the seventh month of pregnancy.
Police, on the other hand, have registered a case against the man on the complaint of the victim girl’s mother.
It has been learned that the girl is unable to narrate her ordeal because of being mentally challenged.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, taking notice of the incident, has sought a report from the RPO Rawalpindi.
The IGP has also directed the DPO Jhelum to visit the victim girl’s home and meet with her family members.
Making it clear that there is a zero-tolerance towards sex crimes against women and children, IGP Rao Sardar has ordered the arrest of the ‘rapist’ as early as possible.
