The Inquiry Committee of the Ministry of Energy and Power Division Wednesday declared the causes of the black-out in the Southern parts of the country on the 13th of October, 2022, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the details, the main reason given in the declaration by the committee was the temporary and low-standard work done on tower number 26 of the K-2 and K-3 Nuclear Power plants in Karachi three years back in 2019.

This kind of failure in the delivery system of energy raises suspicion about the quality of the equipment used in 2019 and the efficiency of the workers. T

he investigation disclosed that the connectors used on the tower were not made for transmission lines but were modified and used for this temporary interconnection. It was also revealed that the project team used 25-year-old dilapidated and very rundown conductors at Tower No. 26, 26-A and 27 back in 2019.

Despite the fact that this temporary disaster could cause serious consequences and the sensitivity of nuclear power plants, it was not regularly repaired and maintained as per the prescribed standards in 2019.

The declaration said that the Ministry of Energy is taking immediate and swift disciplinary action in light of this report.
