A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held today at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony in Islamabad to sight the crescent of Shawwal 1444 AH, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Zonal/District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees would hold their respective meetings at their respective headquarters, while the final announcement regarding the moon sighting would be made by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad.
The meeting will be attended by committee members and representatives of Meteorological Department.
In the meeting, testimonies of moon sighting will be taken throughout the country. The Central Moon Sighting Committee, however, will make the final announcement regarding moon sighting.
According to the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council (RHRC), Eidul Fitr will be on Friday if the moon is sighted today. However, there is extremely little probability that it will fall on April 21, Friday.
In the meanwhile, the Shawwal moon is more likely to be sighted on April 21 evening (Friday), and Eidul Fitr will most likely be celebrated on April 22 (Saturday) following the completion of the holy month of Ramazan's 30 days of fasting.
