Amid complaints of alleged interference in court affairs, Islamabad High Court Chief Justice has sought suggestions from all judges of the High Court as well as District and Session judges in East and West Islamabad on the advice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

It is pertinent to mention that the apex court had sought advice from judges after a letter written by six IHC judges to the Chief Justice of Pakistan alleging threats and interference in judicial affairs by agencies.

Supreme Court of Pakistan had said that it would decide whether to constitute a full court on the interference issue after seeking advice from all concerned judges.

Islamabad High Court has also sent a copy of the Supreme Court order to all concerned judges of Islamabad and directed them to submit their suggestions by April 22, 2024. The Supreme Court had taken suo motu notice of the letter of the High Court judges. Former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Tassaduq Hussain Jilani has excused himself from heading the government-approved inquiry commission on the letter written by six judges of the Islamabad High Court.
