Hunt for Parliament rats to cost national exchequer Rs1.2 million

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allocated over Rs1.2 million as an annual budget to combat the increasing number of rats within the Parliament House. 

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the rats have become a significant issue, particularly in the ceilings of the building, where they are known to chew on important files during the night in various Senate and National Assembly departments.

To tackle this problem, the CDA has devised a unique plan that includes the hiring of hunting cats specifically trained to catch rats. Additionally, special mouse traps will be installed to prevent them from entering offices.

Furthermore, the CDA is considering enlisting the help of private sector companies to assist in this eradication effort. 

The infestation has reportedly led to considerable damage, with several office files already destroyed by the rats.
