In a horrific incident, two persons, a man and his daughter, were killed while four others were injured after a speeding land cruiser, driven by a young woman, overran a motorcycle and then went on to smash a parked car near Karsaz in Karachi late Monday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to an eyewitness, the young woman, after hitting the motorcycle, got panicky and in an attempt to flee from the spot smashed a standing Honda City car; however, a youth sitting inside it miraculously remained unhurt.

Court grants one-day physical remand of woman to police

Later the woman was produced in a court which granted one-day physical remand to the police.

During the hearing, the woman’s lawyer, without presenting a medical certificate, argued that she was mentally ill; so therefore the court was requested to grant her bail.

However, the judge refused to order her release on bail, saying he was not authorized to do so. “If you want to prove that your client is a psychological patient, then submit a medical certificate,” he told the lawyer.

IO says woman to be produced in court tomorrow after doctor’s permission

Funeral prayers for the deceased were offered at Scheme 33 on Tuesday after Asar prayers and they were later buried at Pehlwan Goth graveyard.

Talking to the media, IO Amir Altaf said he had submitted a medical report of the driver to the court.

He said only when documents were available that it would become whether Natasha possessed a Pakistani or UK driving license.

He further said the police would present the suspect in the court tomorrow only when doctors gave her permission.

He said so far the police had not received any report which could confirm that the woman was an addict.
