The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday ordered the secretary Cabinet Division to immediately remove Adviser to Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar from the post, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In its decision, the ECP said that since Cheema had remained part of the last federal cabinet, therefore he might influence the next general elections.
The ECP directed the Cabinet Division to issue a notification for the removal of Ahad Cheema.
It may be mentioned here that an accountability court in Lahore last Friday had acquitted Ahad Cheema from reference of assets over income and his name had been exempted from NAB’s reference.
