The caretaker government is going to prepare to halt the release of funds for parliamentary schemes, sources said on Tuesday.
According to insiders, the move will stop the process of releasing Rs 29 billion in funds.
The caretaker government is implementing the cost-cut plan under the IMF programme and planning to halt the release of funds for parliamentarians' schemes, they maintained.
In the current financial year, more than Rs90 b has been allocated for the schemes of members of parliament, the sources said.
The approval to the release of more than Rs61 billion for the schemes of parliamentarians from July to November was accorded, they said, adding that over Rs 29 billion have been spent on the schemes.
