British MP Yasmin Qureshi calls on Parvez

Britain’s Labour Party parliamentarian of Gujrat origin Yasmin Qureshi called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and MNA Chaudhry Salik Hussain at their residence in Lahore on Thursday.
MPA Khadeeja Omar was also present at the meeting where views were exchanged on promotion of people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
Elahi said that Britain and Pakistan had very deep bilateral, political and cultural relations. He said the British royal couple visited Pakistan as ambassador of peace recently and declared Pakistan a peaceful country and a safe destination for tourists. He said the royal couple’s visit showed the world a positive image of Pakistan. He said that apart from this Britain has resumed operations of the British Airways in Pakistan and this shows their confidence in Pakistan.
He said that today's Pakistan is safer compared to the past. “We invite people fond of tourism to come and enjoy the natural beauty of Pakistan.
Expressing her gratitude, Yasmin said: “We are busy in promoting Pakistan's positive image in Britain.”
