The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Sunday rejected amendments to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz tweeted that whatever laws the government was enacting, would be used against the government itself.
“These laws are apparently being made to suppress the voice of media and opposition, but they will be used against Imran Khan and company,” she said. “There should be no blame upon us for not informing you,” she added.
Also, Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani termed amendments to Peca a dangerous attempt, adding that it amounted to quashing the voice of the media.
Talking to the media in Islamabad, the PPP minister said that the incompetent government would be sent packing with the arrival of the long march on February 27.
