Tehreek Labaik Pakistan (TLP) has announced a shutter-down strike on February 27 across the country against the increase in petroleum products, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
In a video message, the TLP chief Saad Hussain Rizvi along with a senior member of the party announced a nationwide shutter-down strike.
The TLP has given a 72-hour 'ultimatum' to the federal government on February 17 to withdraw the latest hike on petroleum products, warning it of dire consequences if prices are not brought down.
They said that the deadline given to the government has expired and the government refuses to bow down in favour of the masses.
They also appealed to the people to make the strike successful.
The government increased the price of petrol by up to Rs22.20 and diesel by Rs 17.20 per litre on Wednesday amid spiralling inflation as the country continues to face an economic crisis.
